journey into the magical color, so that Van Gogh did write: "Color
changing, you never know if it is green or purple, you never know if
it is blue, because the seconds after changing the reflection has
taken on a gray or pink tint. "
The
exhibition is dedicated to the two centuries of French painting that
range from the mid-eighteenth century to the mid-twentieth century,
carried on the shores of that sea and its immediate hinterland of
Provence.
An
amazing show of color, from the eighteenth century to Robert and
Vernet, the nineteenth century by Courbet, Monet, Van Gogh, Renoir,
Cézanne and Munch until the twentieth century by Braque and Matisse.
