This course guides students through ancient Genoese culture, introducing the famous people who proudly dominated the Mediterranean see for thousands years with their traditions.

During lessons teachers will develop an interesting programme based around music, theatre, cinema, literature and curiosities: it is a course which travels deep into the Genoese spirit…

Students are requested to have at least B1 level Italian.

La Dolce Vita

Looking at Italy in relation to famous Italian film directors, this course is a tool for understanding the Italian spirit and the Italian people: who were the Italians and whoare the Italians today?

We will look at cult films of the past and present popular films: it is a journey into the Italian cinema, from the the 50’ to the present, considered themirror of the real changing life.
 
Starting from the films during the so called Neorealismo, introducing the hard years of
the post-war period, through the world known Italian commedia, laughing of theItalian stereotypes, arriving to the contemporary cinema, speaking about Italytoday, the course is also an excursus within the Italian language. What ischanged from the 50’ when the “dialetto” was spokennearly exclusively?

Italian for opera singers  

Are you a professional singer or simple an opera lover?
 
You can study Italian reading and analysing opera's libretti. If you are an opera singer you can combine opera's libretti with singing lessons held by a professional opera singer of the theater Carlo Felice. Remember that Genoa is the city where Paganini was born. In our museum, Palazzo Tursi famous Paganini's violin, the Cannone is well preserved and every year in Carlo Felice's theater thousend of violinists from all over the world try to win the Paganini's international competition.
