To discover the Liguria region, A Door to Italy offers a course in the art of ceramics, for which Genoa and the Riviera di Ponente are particularly renowned.
Laura, an expert ceramist, welcomes you, smiling and enthusiastic, in her ceramics laboratory "L’Aria del Mare".
It will be enjoyable and stimulating to take the first steps in her company and create original handmade items such as: cups, glasses and the characteristic laggioni, ancient decorations typical of the courtyards and gardens of Genoa.
Laura is a master in the reproduction of the ancient Genoese "Laggioni". She tells the ancient and interesting story of this typical indoor decorative tiles, of Moorish origin, which can still be seen in many of the ancient buildings in the historic center of Genoa. She teaches the students the construction technique.
The participants in the course will shape the clay and their own tile will slowly take shape...
It may vary from 1 to 2 lessons of 90 minutes each shaping, decorating and baking.
Suitable for learning how to create a variety of different objects, artistic or for everyday use.
The course consists of 5 lessons lasting 90 minutes each.
All the other level (A2 - C2) students can start every Monday.
